How to set a reminder on Android by typing one sentence

Instead of filling in a form, type what’s on your mind: “dentist tomorrow at 10”. Dayloom picks out the task, date and time and sets the reminder.

Short answer

In Dayloom, type your sentence in the Assistant tab or say it with the microphone. The app finds the task, day, time and any repeat, and shows a preview before saving. When you save, the reminder is set. No account needed, and the parsing runs on your phone, offline.

Step by step

  1. Install Dayloom from Google Play and open it. Allow notifications when asked.
  2. In the Assistant tab, type: “dentist tomorrow at 10”.
  3. Check the title, date and time in the preview and fix anything you like.
  4. Save. You get a notification at that time.

Example sentences that work

  • “dentist tomorrow at 10” → Dentist, tomorrow 10:00
  • “call mom Friday evening” → Call mom, Friday 19:00
  • “call Mark in 10 minutes” → Call Mark, in 10 minutes
  • “May 15 at 2:30pm doctor appointment” → Doctor appointment, May 15 14:30

If you leave out the time, the task is set for 09:00 that day.

Finish it from the notification

You don’t need to open the app. Use the notification buttons: Complete, Snooze 10 min or Move to tomorrow.

If notifications don’t arrive

  • Check that notifications are allowed for Dayloom in Android settings.
  • If Dayloom Settings > Notifications shows “Battery optimization is on”, tap Open Settings and set Dayloom to unrestricted.
  • On Xiaomi, Huawei and some Samsung phones, also check “autostart” or “sleeping apps”; if Dayloom is restricted there, reminders can be late.

Several reminders for one task

The free version sets one reminder per task, and “1 day before” is free too. Premium adds several reminders per task (e.g. 1 day before + 1 hour before) and persistent reminders that repeat every few minutes until you complete the task.

Try it, no account needed.

Dayloom is free on Android. Add your first task with one sentence.
